This organization is a horrible "rescue" if you can call it that. I have seen first-hand the amount of dogs that are returned to the organization based on a lack of information supplied to the adopting parents. This organization is more of a way for the "foster parents" to have their own golden without having to pay all of the bills than a legitimate rescue. Those looking to adopt are given a long survey asking whether or not they have a tall enough fence (and goldens aren't jumpers like other breeds such as Huskies or Boxers) or big enough yards (goldens would also be fine in an apartment given regular walks as they aren't high energy) therefore the survey is complete bogus. Also, if you look for the available dogs on petfinder, apparently none of them can go to homes with kids under the age of 4, but goldens are well known to be excellent family dogs. The people running the organization know very little about dogs, but they think they know a lot, and their advice is assumed to be better than anyone at a pet store or perhaps even your own vet. In some cases these fostered dogs are kept in homes with 5 other dogs at once, hardly a good situation to get a feeling for the foster, however that is what the people running the organization rely on, the feedback from the foster parents. In the end, there is a excessive fee for adoption, outweighing the NPO range, in order for them to pay for the fostered dogs (deemed unable to be adopted, for ridiculous reasons). And if you meet all of their dumb criteria, you are deemed the perfect person for the dog, regardless of personal feelings towards the dog, or how the dog takes to you. And once you agree to adopt the dog, not all information is given to you about how the dog acts around the house, the eating or defication habits, or how the dog acts with other dogs or people. This is all assumed to be the responsibility of the new parents, and they need to figure out for themselves how their new pet will act in time, hence the large return rate. Sadly these dogs deserve good homes, and the rescue does not provide that.
